LOVE.—In loving memory of our dear Son and Brother, Roy, who passed away 12th January, 1953. A beautiful life came to an end, He died as he lived, everyone's friend, His loving smile and heart of gold, The most beautiful this world could hold, Time has altered many things But one thing changes never, The memory of those happy days When we were all together. Sadly missed by his loving Mother and Father, Sisters and Brothers.

Man crushed by tree limb Jack Smith, 51, married, of Colville Street, West End, was crushed fo death by the limb of a tree in a freak accident at the Esplanade, Wynnum, at 12.15 p.m. yesterday. Smith and William Moore, also of CoJville Street. West End, were lopping a large limb from a tree on the property of Mr. Henry Roy Love. Smith strapped himself to the tree about 15ft. from the ground with a body belt, and a rope was attached to the limb so that it could be slackened to the ground. However, the rope failed to slacken quickly enough. The limb swung sharply inwards, and crushed Smith against the tree.

MAN KILLED IN TREE ACCIDENT BRISBANE, December 14. — Jack Smith, 51. married, of Colville Street, West End, was crushed to death by the limb of a tree in a freak accident at the Esplanade, Wynnum, at 12.15pm on Saturdav. Smith and William Moore, also of Colville Street West End, were lopping a large limb from a tree on the property of Mr. Henry Roy Love. Smith strapped himself to the tree about 15 feet from the ground with a body belt and a rope was attached to the limb so that it could be slackened to the ground. However, the rope failed to slacken quickly enough. The limb swung sharply inwards, and crushed Smith against the tree. An ambulance bearer from Wynnum climbed tbe tree, and found Smith dead. He released the body belt and lowered the bedy to the ground.
