MAN OF ALL TRADES.
Louisa Tomlin Pinfold, formerly Moss, petitioned for a dissolution of her marriage with George Wainwright Pinfold, on the ground of desertion. The parties were married in December, 1883, at Brisbane, according to the rites of the Presbyterian Church. Petitioner, for whom Mr. Boyce appeared, deposed to having filed a petition against her husband in 1897, and she had not seen him for over 10 years. They had come from England, where they had been boy and girl together. After the marriage they lived in Queensland till 1885, when they came to Sydney. He was a baker by trade, but he obtained employment with the Excelsior Building Company as a general hand. He afterwards started a hairdressing business. They were residing at Leichhardt at the time. In 1893 he went away to England, saying he would get some money to start another business, and either come back or send for her. He also said half a loaf was better than none. His Honour; That is not what a baker generally thinks. Petitioner proceeded to say that the respondent went to England as a musician and steward on board the Orient. His Honour; He seems to have been every thing. Was he a musician?-— Yes. Mr. Boyce: He played some instrument in the band on board. Petitioner had received some letters from him after he left, in one of which he wrote that he was coming home. . He then ceased to write, and although she had written several times to him she had received no replies. The reason she had not proceeded with her petition in 1897 was that she had no means. A decree was granted, to be moved absolute in six months . The training tender Dart passed Gabo Island at 6.45 a.m. today, bound north. MAN OF ALL TRADES. (1906, June 1).
