IN MEMORIAM.
FUCHS.—In loving memory of our dear father, Adam Fuchs, who departed this life on September 17th, 1908. A painful shock, a dreadful blow ; Oh! father dear, we miss you so! Our loss is great—we will not complain— But trust in God to meet again. Rest, dearest father, sweetly rest ; They miss you most who loved you best. We loved, yes, no tongue can tell How deep, how dearly, and how well; God loved him too, and thought it best To take him home with Him to rest. Heaven retains now our treasure, Earth the Ionely casket keeps, And our thoughts for ever linger Where our darling father sleeps. (Inserted by his loving sons and daughters.) The unveiling of the handsome monument which has been erected to the memory of the late Mrs. Adam Fuchs, took place on Sunday afternoon last at the Cemetery. This is the first time anything of this kind has taken place in Maryborough. It attracted a large number of friends. The husband and children of the deceased lady were present, viz.: — Daughters: Mrs. Fien, Brisbane;: Mrs. Meyers, Bidwell; Mrs. Zahn, Bundaberg; Mrs. Rosendahl, Maryborough; Mrs. Pomerening, Maryborough; Mrs. Jabs, Maryborough. Sons: Mr. W. Fuchs, Mr. H. Fuchs, Mr. August Fuchs, Mr. Carl Fuchs, Maryborough. The ceremony was conducted by the Rev. T. Frank. He first addressed the people in German, and then in English, in which he specially emphasized the glorious benefit of motherly love, and in view of this he unveiled the stone, which is a beautiful work of art, and is the best, on the Lutheran section. It stands about 12 feet high, and is of rich Italian marble. The monument was fitted up by Mr. Satchwell, of Knight's Marble Works, Gayndah road, and the workmanship does him great credit. Queensland, October 9, 1908:—'The remains of our late and highly-esteemed citizen, Mr. Adam Fuchs, were interred in the Maryborough Cemetery to day. The deceased, whose death took place at Adelaide, South Australia, on September 17, and whose remains were place in the hands of Messrs. R. T. Wallman & Sons, of Adelaide, for embalming and forwarding to his late residence, Maryborough, reflects great credit to them on the very efficient manner in which they have carried out the duties entrusted to them. On the casket being opened the body was found to be in a perfect state of preservation. The family of the deceased were astonished to find that, notwith- standing the long transport of 1,954 miles by rail, the deceased appeared as in sleep in place of death. The deceased has been viewed by numerous friends and citizens, who highly compliment Messrs. Wallman & Sons on the way they have carried out their duties in enabling them to view the remains of the deceased before interring PRAISE FOR AN ADELAIDE UNDERTAKER. (1908, November 28).
