Narrative

Born along the railway track at Bowenfels in 1872. Richard began his life in a tent. It was not until later in life that he married at 41 years of age, while living in St Peters he married Victoria Alice WARE. Victoria Alice was born in Sale, Victoria in 1874, the daughter of James WARE. a farmer and Isabella Celia IRVING, both of who were deceased at the time of the wedding. The wedding was held at St. Peters Methodist Church on January 27th, 1913. witness to the wedding being Florence WARE and Leslie John BROOME. Richard was an engine driver. Sadly, Victoria died during the 'flue epidemic' Richard moved to Newcastle and extended into manufacturing engineering, occasionally coming to Sydney by sailing ship. "Uncle Dick" would the visit all of his relativies and was an authority on family issue. He adopted a son Cliford WARE.
