WEDDING. SHEPPEARD—SMITH. The wedding took place in Sydney on Saturday, 22nd October, of Miss Una Maude Smith, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Smith of Katoomba, and Mr Cecil Herbert Sheppeard, only son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Sheppeard of Glenbrook. The wedding was celebrated at St. Peter's Church of England, St. Peters, where the bride's mother was married. The church recently celebrated its 100th. anniversary. The Rev. Le Huray officiated. The bride wore a gown of pearl novelty French taffeta, which was made Old World style, with long train and puffed sleeves, and with the new shaped neck-line. Her veil of tulle was held in place by a coronet of orange blossom, and she carried a bouquet of gold roses and lily of the valley. The bridesmaids were Miss Hazel Smith (sister (Of the bride), and Miss Eileen Sheppeard. A litte cousin Marie Bridget, was flower girl. They all wore frocks of forget-me-not blue sheer , over matching moire taffeta, which had full skirts tucked to the waist, line and shir red bodices: Their blue tulle veils were held in place by red roses and they carried bouquets to match. Mr. Les Kiddle, cousin of the bridegroom, was best man, and Mr Ralph Smith, brother of the bride, was groomsman. The reception was held at the Newtown town hall. The bride's mother, assisted by the bride groom's mother, received the guests. The bride's mother wore navy with, white spots French crepe frock and coattee relieved with white. A plain navy embossed frock was chosen by the bridegroom's mother. Each wore a spray of red roses and lily of the valley. Many friends came from Katoomba and the South Coast. Among the guests was Mr H. Hodgson (Deputy-Mayor, of Katoomba) , who acted as chairman at the reception.
