Narrative
A pretty wedding was celebrated in St. Stephen's Cathedral on Saturday morning, September 7, when Mr. Mathew O'Connor, eldest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter O'Connor, of Kilkenny, Ireland, was married to Miss Ann Mary Bendell, fourth daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. G. F. Bendell, Red Hill, and granddaughter of the late Mr. Marmaduke Montagu Kearns, Armagh, Ireland. The Rev. Father Breen officiated. The bride, who was given away by her brother-in-law (Mr. W. J. Dwyer), wore a pretty gown of white silk eoilenne with yoke of finely tucked chiffon edged with silk lisse ribbon, the gracefully trained skirt being finished with tiny frills. A wreath of orange blossoms and a bridal veil were also worn. Her bouquet and jewels were the gifts of the bridegroom. Miss Cecelia Bendall (youngest sister of the bride) acted as bridesmaid, and wore a frock of cream taffeta with silk insertion and a crinoline hat trimmed with soft lace and cream roses and daisies. A gold brooch and bouquet were gifts of the bridegroom. Mr. Kieley acted as best man. After the ceremony the bridal party adjourned to the residence of the bride's mother, where a reception was held.
The bride's travelling dress was of navy blue silk relieved with white lace. Her hat of satin straw was relieved with floral ribbon tulle and sweet peas. Mr. and Mrs. O'Connor left by mail train for Cambooya, their future home. The wedding dress was made by Messrs. Allan and Stark, and the millinery by Finney, Isles, and Co., Limited. The bouquets were from the London American Florists. Many handsome presents were received.
