Mrs. CAROLINE HAWKE.
A well-known old Bendigoian,
Mrs. Caroline Hawke, widow of the late Mr. George Hawke, who was born at White Hills, was Inspector of Mines, for Victoria, at the time, of his death, some nine years ago, passed away at her residence, 516 Drum mond Street, North Carlton, on 24th December.
The deceased,79 years ago, is survived by one son, four married daughters, 30 grand-children, 28 great-grand children, and 2 great-great-grand children.
The funeral took place on 27th December, from the residence of her son Mr George Hawke, 35 Davies Street, New port, to the family grave in the Box Hill cemetery.
Rev. G. F. Dyson, of the Methodist Church, was the officiating clergyman, and he paid a glowing tribute to the stirling qualities possessed by the deceased.

HAWKE.— The Friends of the late Mrs. CAROLINE HAWKE, relict of the late Mr. George Hawke (Inspector of Mines for Victoria), are respectfully informed that her remains will be interred in the Box Hill Cemetery. The funeral will leave the residence of her son, 35 Davies-street, Newport, TOMORROW (Wednesday), at 8.30 a.m.
