Narrative
GOOSTEEY-ORRELL.
The wedding was celebrated at the Methodist Church, Landsborough, on September 28, of Mr. Herbert Goostrey (second son of Mrs. Goostrey, Wynnum) and Miss Lila Orrell (seventh daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Orrell, Landsborough). Rev. Mr. Finnemore officiated, and Mrs. Finnemore presided at the organ. The church was artistically decorated by friends of the bride. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. James Orrell. wore a white crepe de Chine frock, heavily beaded and shirred, and caught at the waist with a handmade posy. She also wore a tulle veil, arranged in fan effect, with a wreath of orange blossoms, which was lent by her sister, Mrs. A. Mier. She carried a bouquet of arum lilies, gerberas, and daisies. Miss Dorrie Orrell acted as bridesmaid, and was gowned in pink crepe de Chine, trimmed with guipure lace, and hat to match. She carried a bouquet of pink and lavender sweet peas. Mr. R. Orrell acted as best man. Mrs. Orrell (mother of the bride) was gowned in striped Marocain, and a hat to match. She carried a bouquet of gerberas. After the ceremony the (bride's parents entertained a number of guests at their residence. The tables were decorated with bowls of roses and gerberas. The chief feature of the table was a two-tier cake, the work of Mrs. A. Mier. The bridal couple left by the afternoon mail for the South. The bride's travelling frock was of navy crepe de Chine, trimmed with mastic, and a hat to match.
